  • O Secretariado-Geral é responsável pela implementação e monitorização do processo decisório e pela prestação de serviços de secretariado a todos os órgãos de direção do BEI. Define a estratégia institucional (incluindo o Plano de Atividades), fornece análises económicas sobre o impacto das atividades do BEI no crescimento e no emprego e sobre eventuais novos produtos. Coordena e dinamiza as relações com outras instituições da UE, instituições financeiras internacionais, agências de financiamento do desenvolvimento e organizações não governamentais. Assegura igualmente a comunicação e a responsabilidade institucional.
