EIB support for Turkey in 2012 continued to be a substantial stimulus to the country during a period of significant economic development. EIB lending amounted to EUR 2.1 billion, remaining steady compared to recent years. As the EU bank and the largest multilateral financing institution, over the last five years the EIB provided an unprecedented volume of EUR 11.5 billion in effective support for the country’s smart growth.
