The  4th edition of the Finance in Common (FiCS) Summit took place on 4 - 6 September 2023 in Cartagena.

For the fourth consecutive year, all Public Development Banks (PDBs) convened to strengthen their partnership and reinforce their commitments towards the sustainable development goals (SDGs), to find innovative solutions for climate change and sustainable development.

This year's edition was co-hosted by the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), the Latin American Association of Development Financing Institutions (ALIDE), the Business Development Bank of Colombia (Bancóldex) with the support of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Agence française de développement (AFD) and the International Development Finance Club (IDFC) as an official partner.

Four were the main themes of the Summit: SMEs and financial inclusion, Climate and biodiversity, Sustainable infrastructures, and PDBs' institutional agenda.

The Summit also had four major cross-cutting issues: social mainstreaming and development impact, private capital mobilisation towards SDG goals, collaboration with civil society and incorporation of human rights in strategies and programs, and Latin America and Caribbean perspective.

The event was attended by EIB President Hoyer, Vice-President Fayolle and Vice-President Mourinho, along with other EIB representatives.

The EIB launched the EIB Climate Survey for Latin America and Caribbean at the Finance in Common Summit. Read the findings here
