Meet our people

Engineers at at the EIB
Most of our Engineers are based in our Projects Directorate, where you will be at the centre of the technical assessment (and monitoring) of our projects. Your opinions will help shape the Bank’s strategy in your sector. The Projects Directorate has five departments:
- Energy: lending projects and advisory for the full range of energy activities
- Environment & natural resources: projects and advisory to support environmental sustainability (in particular water and wastewater, solid waste, bio-economy and circular economy)
- Innovation & competitiveness: lending projects and advisory in manufacturing and commercial services, education, public research and healthcare
- Mobility: lending projects and advisory in the transport sector, with the exception of urban transport
- Urban & territorial development: all projects and advisory related to urban investments and territorial development, and main interface with DG REGIO, including for JASPERS
Quantitative specialists at the EIB
Our Quant family encompasses roles in Capital Management, Derivatives, Market Risk, and Pricing domains, as well as more model-oriented fields such as Model Development & Stress Testing, Model Implementation, Model Monitoring & Maintenance, and Model Validation. You will be able to use your quantitative and mathematical strengths in any of these fields and make your valuable contribution to the Bank and the EU.
Our Risk Management Directorate is home to the majority of these roles, but there may also be opportunities in our Front Office Directorates, Lending (Operations Directorate) or Funding (Finance Directorate).
