Land Degradation Neutrality Fund

Summary

Initiated by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and Mirova, the Land Degradation Neutrality Fund is seeking to be a source of transformative capital bringing together public and private investors to fund triple bottom line projects that contribute to land degradation neutrality (“LDN”), a major global challenge that was officially set as part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (“SDGs”) in September 2015 (SDG 15, target 3). The Fund provides patient long-term finance and technical assistance for land use transformation, shifting the trend from land degradation and unsustainable land use to land rehabilitation and sustainable land use.
