In recent years EIB has been among the largest non-US issuers of USD benchmark bonds in Global format in the international markets.

EIB has built a reputation for regular refreshment of its presence in standard benchmark maturities.

Issue sizes are large and liquid, typically USD 2-5 billion in maturities up to 10 years, which compares favourably with US comparables including large agency issuers.

The bonds generally offer a yield pick-up over US Treasuries. The secondary market performance of EIB USD benchmark bonds, coupled with relatively low volatility, have been additional attractions for investors in recent years.
