By letter dated 25 March 2010, the Kingdom of Sweden nominated, by common accord with the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Latvia, the Republic of Lithuania, the Republic of Austria and the Republic of Finland, Mr Mattias Hector (Director General, Swedish Ministry of Finance) for appointment as an Alternate Member of the Board of Directors following the resignation from the Board of Directors as of 1 January 2010 of Mr Pauli Kariniemi.

By letter dated 25 March 2010, the Board of Governors were invited to vote on the proposed appointment.

The decision to nominate Mr Mattias Hector was taken on 7 April 2010, the date on which the requisite majority of Governors' votes was reached.

The term of office of Mr Hector will expire in 2013, at the end of the day of the Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors during which the annual report, balance sheet and profit and loss account for the 2012 financial year are examined.
