Multilateral Banks agreed to join forces to fight corruption at a meeting in Washington on 17/18 February 2006. The meeting, in which EIB President Philippe Maystadt participated, was hosted by the World Bank.

In a joint statement, the Heads of the seven participating institutions called for enhanced cooperation and consistency in setting rules and sharing information on enforcement actions.
