Since 1st January 2012, the EIB Institute has been created to act as a catalyst for existing social, art and educational activities of the Bank such as the EIB-Universities Research Action as well as to develop new initiatives. The Institute is based in Luxembourg and its Dean is Mr. Rémy Jacob, director general of the SCC directorate at the EIB. Its Supervisory Board will be chaired by the EIB President and will be comprised of leading figures such as the 2010 Nobel Prize winner for economics, Professor Christopher Pissarides.
