The Commission and the EIB will continue their cooperation through the CARS 2020 action plan to reinforce the car industry competitiveness and sustainability.
Reducing transport-related CO2 emissions is a key objective of the EIB. We finance projects aiming at cleaner transport modes such as the development of electric vehicles and related infrastructure.
In addition to financing for automotive research and innovation, the EIB also provides dedicated technical assistance for example on electro-mobility through the ELENA facility.
